flareGet – download manager for linux

flareGet is a full featured, multi-threaded and multi-segment download manager utility designed for Linux, Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
flareGet supports browser integration through add-ons and many features, including amazingly fast downloads with its robust dynamic file segmentation algorithm, enhanced browser integration, support for resuming unfinished downloads, and intelligent file management.


Install flareGet

To get the latest version, see the flareGet downloads page – there are .rpm and .deb files available.

Install flareGet in Debian, Ubuntu and Mint linux

Download and install flareGet 32bit version:

$ wget http://www.flareget.com/files/flareget/debs/i386/flareget_2.4-27_i386(stable)_deb.tar.gz
$ tar xvf flareget_2.4-27_i386(stable)_deb.tar.gz
$ cd flareget_2.4-27_i386(stable)_deb
$ sudo dpkg -i flareget_2.4-27_i386.deb

Download and install flareGet 64bit version:

$ wget http://www.flareget.com/files/flareget/debs/amd64/flareget_2.4-27_amd64(stable)_deb.tar.gz
$ tar xvf flareget_2.4-27_i386(stable)_rpm.tar.gz
$ cd flareget_2.4-27_i386(stable)_rpm
$ rpm -ivh flareget-2.4-27.i386.rpm

Install Flareget in Ubuntu or Linux Mint via PPA

For 32-bit systems, install Flareget with the following commands:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:upubuntu-com/flareget-i386
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install flareget

For 64-bit systems, install Flareget with the following commands:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:upubuntu-com/flareget-amd64
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install flareget

Install flareGet in CentOS and Fedora linux

Download and install flareGet 32bit version:

$ wget http://www.flareget.com/files/flareget/rpm/i386/flareget_2.4-27_i386(stable)_rpm.tar.gz
$ tar xvf flareget_2.4-27_i386(stable)_rpm.tar.gz

$ cd flareget_2.4-27_i386(stable)_rpm
$ rpm -ivh flareget-2.4-27.i386.rpm

Download and install flareGet 64bit version:

$ wget http://www.flareget.com/files/flareget/rpm/amd64/flareget_2.4-27_x86_64(stable)_rpm.tar.gz
$ tar xvf flareget_2.4-27_x86_64(stable)_rpm.tar.gz
$ cd flareget_2.4-27_x86_64(stable)_rpm
$ rpm -ivh flareget-2.4-27.x86_64.rpm

Start flareGet.
